The area between Ballyheigue and Kerry Head is covered with the most interesting ruins and monuments dating back some 15 centuries to a time when the manners, customs and language were so different to those we practice today. To recall the glorious days of the “Saints and Scholars” here in North Kerry, local historian, Sean Quinlan, travelled to this historic area with me. As Sean states, “our dead are never dead until they are forgotten.” The saints of North Kerry have lived for centuries in the minds and hearts of the people to this day.
