Tom Doherty’s father, Jimmy, was a Peace Commissioner, and an active member of his community and his mother once ran the famous Tea Rooms in Sneem, The Green House, owned by her family, the O’Connors. Track 2: Tom Doherty provides his views on being a young Councillor and an activist in the community. This gains which accrue to councillors due to their involvement in political life are mentioned. Track 3: The excellent communication and co-operation which exists between councillors, regardless of political affiliation, is described. Tom Doherty’s involvement in sports in Killarney, and the trips he undertakes as a councillor for the benefit of the town are also mentioned. Track 4: The pride the people of Killarney have for their own place, and the consequent successes enjoyed by businesses in the town are discussed.
