DENIS AND MARGARET DOUGHAN, Part 1

Denis Doughan was born in Clonlisk in 1910, the second youngest in a family of 13. He farmed all his lifetime in Clonlisk and loved it – the farm was medium sized, 50 to 70 acres. His interests included hurling, he played with Clonlisk hurling team, and his other interests were shooting, reading, music and caring for the sick. He had been educated at Clonlisk by Mr White and Mrs Cleare. He and Margaret had two children, John and Kathleen.
