Donnacha O Curráin begins the second section of the recording by describing Irish words and their translations, in use in the 1950s in Killorglin, Co. Kerry, his own native place. He compiled a list, which remains unpublished, and the words included relate to types of people, parts of the body, plants, animals, birds, insects, animal calls and other farm-related words, foods and place names, amongst others.
