Fr Robert Ford is the retired parish priest of Tullylease, who has great knowledge to impart about St Beircheart and the very strong devotion to the saint which has been evident down through the generations. He describes the connection between the cross slab in Tullylease and those at Lindisfarne, in fascinating detail. Seamus O’Sullivan had a diverse view on St Patrick’s supposed visit to the area, and a most interesting and enlightening discussion ensued. Fr Forde speaks about the uniqueness of Tullylease and its hinterland and recalls the strong tradition of stonemasonry which existed here in the middle ages.
