Description
I returned to Waterville, Co Kerry where I met Máire’s sister Bridie. The conversation started with local place names and their meaning. They also spoke about a well-known folklorist from the area called James O’Sullivan. They also engaged in storytelling, sharing a stories relating to the Whiteboys, the Banshee, keening at wakes, a Great Famine story. The interview the moved to a dicussion about the Waterville cable station and the Hubbards in the Butler Arms Hotel in Waterville, before concluding with a recitation.
