After his ordination, Padraig’s first appointment was in Wales where he spent six years and he describes that time in detail. He goes on to speak of the next stage of his life, as a lecturer in Maynooth, teaching medieval Welsh and early Irish. He speaks of his three great ambitions: to catalogue the Irish manuscripts in Maynooth, to translate and edit the Bible in Irish, and to create a dictionary of the old Irish language. He ends the interview by recalling his involvement nationally in social and cultural matters and his extensive travels in this regard. Finally, he summarises the events of his long life and his feelings about the way the years unfolded..
