In the farmyard of Pat Murphy at Ballinagrane, we chatted about local history. His wealth of knowledge of events of the eighteenth, nineteenth and early twentieth centuries is clearly evident in this recording. He spoke about the 1798 Rebellion, landlordism, evictions locally and his own father’s involvement in the Troubles and he spoke at great length about the McMurrough-Kavanagh family.
