Peter Maguire is a native of Dublin, and as a child he spent all his holidays in Wexford. After he was called to the Bar in 1949, one of his circuit towns was Wexford. It was fascinating to record Peter’s perception, from the outside, of all the events and performances of the Festival. Through his friendship with Dr Tom Walsh he attended many of the parties associated with the Festival, and recounted anecdotes of these entertaining events. He became very friendly with Tom Walsh later in his life, and Tom wrote to him on many occasions.
