Tom Harrington was born in Tipperary, his father was a member of the Garda Siochána. In 1942 the family moved to Wexford Town. Tom speaks first about his extended family’s involvement in the War of Independence, in Emly, North Tipperary. He joined the ESB and speaks about the many initial electrical connections to farmhouses both in Wexford and in Waterford. It is interesting to hear Tom’s views about the social distinction between the Opera Committee and the volunteers with the opera in the town.
