Track 1: Growing up in Devon, in the 1960s and 1970s. Joining the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. His time as a seminarian, and ordination in 1990. His first appointment was to further studies in Rome, then the retreat house in Cork and Tramore. Track 2: His first short-term appointment to Russia in 1996, to the missionary house in Moscow. His first impressions. Track 3: His long-term appointment in 1997 to Russia, and assignment to one of the republics in the Caucasus. His role in establishing a presence there. The background of the Catholic Church in that area. Track 4: His time in orientation and learning the language. He had to leave for one year and then return. Track 5: The insecurity tension and bureaucracy there, described anecdotally. Track 6: His appointment as Parish Priest in his area in one of the Russian republics. He is still working there.
