John Flanagan was born on a small farm in Cappacur and in this recording he recalls difficult times in the 1950s when he managed to scrape a living undertaking menial work in the countryside. He recalls how the people who lived on the mountain slopes of Slieve Bloom became his customers, and this was the foundation for what is today a large building firm in Tullamore.
